Culture by Design

For the leadership team of an organisation that grew faster than its habits: deciding the culture on purpose instead of inheriting it by accident.

What it is for

Culture is written on a wall and contradicted in a meeting the same week. Nobody set out to do that: the values were chosen once, the behaviour was never specified, and the gap became the culture.

How it runs

  • Turn each stated value into an observable behaviour and its opposite, so it can be noticed rather than merely agreed with.
  • Run the last real crisis again in the room, and find where the culture on the wall and the decisions taken diverged.
  • Leave with policy changes owned by name and dated, because a culture session with no owner is a workshop about feelings.

What people leave with

  • A short written list of behaviour changes, each with a named owner and a date.
  • A follow-up a month later that checks the list rather than the mood.

Let’s talk about your team

I’m taking training bookings for this quarter. Send a line about the room and I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person for it.

Corporate sessions, university seminars, speaking slots and one-to-one coaching.
